Victor Martins Joins Williams Driver Academy After Alpine Exit
French racer Victor Martins has signed with the Williams Racing Driver Academy following his departure from Alpine's junior setup.

Significant movement across the driver market has seen Victor Martins officially join the Williams Racing Driver Academy. The agreement follows the French racer's recent departure from Alpine's equivalent junior development scheme, bringing a definitive end to his long-standing affiliation with the Enstone team and establishing a new pathway for his career.
In making the switch to Grove, Martins integrates into the Williams young driver framework after formally parting ways with his previous backers. The transition grants the driver a fresh structural foothold within a Formula 1 team's development pipeline as he maintains his seat and focus on competing at the Formula 2 level.
His arrival at Williams concludes a multi-stage association with Alpine's junior infrastructure. Martins first entered the Enstone programme back in 2018, completing a two-year stint that spanned 2018 and 2019 before experiencing a temporary break in his formal relationship with the organization.
That single-year hiatus from the academy came as a direct consequence of a closely fought 2019 Formula Renault Eurocup title battle. Martins narrowly lost out on the championship crown to Oscar Piastri, a setback that simultaneously resulted in him losing his spot within the Enstone junior roster at the time.
Rallying from that loss of academy backing, Martins stayed on course in the junior ranks and ultimately secured the Formula Renault Eurocup championship title. That victory paved the way for his reinstatement into the Enstone scheme in 2021, starting a second continuous tenure that lasted four years through 2024.
With that four-year spell now complete and his Alpine association brought to a close, Martins embarks on a fresh chapter with Williams. The Grove team adds a driver to its junior ranks who possesses substantial experience of battling at the sharp end of competitive feeder categories.
For Williams, integrating Martins into their driver academy reinforces their talent pool with a racer who has demonstrated clear resilience throughout his career progression. The signing provides Martins with new backing and resources as he continues his ambition to climb the single-seater ladder.
