Honda is set to deliver its first power unit upgrade of the 2026 Formula 1 season at the upcoming Zandvoort event, introducing a key engine update to complement recent chassis work. The technical step at Zandvoort will mark the Japanese manufacturer's initial hardware revision of the year, arriving at a juncture where the overall package is beginning to undergo systematic overhaul.
The engine update comes directly on the heels of Aston Martin's chassis-focused development effort, which debuted at the Hungarian Grand Prix. In Hungary, the team introduced its first extensive aerodynamic and mechanical package of the year for the AMR26, establishing the foundation for its mid-season technical progression.
That Hungarian package was of particular significance as it marked the first upgrade set developed under the technical leadership of Adrian Newey.
