A submission covering round two of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship at Sweden's Tierp Arena has been excluded from publication under the site's strict policy of reporting exclusively on Formula 1. The underlying press release detailed the Summit Racing Equipment Internationals, where debutant Colin Millar secured his first victory in the Top Fuel category by defeating defending European champion Susanne Callin.
Millar, representing RF Motorsport, qualified in top position before facing Callin in the head-to-head final. Callin had won the season opener at Santa Pod, but lost traction during her final attempt. Millar capitalized on her setback, posting a 4.55-second run to capture his maiden class victory in his first season of Top Fuel competition.
The source material also outlined action across three other competition classes at Tierp Arena, starting with Pro Modified eliminations. Top qualifiers dominated the opening round by eliminating the bottom eight seeds, which prematurely ended the event for title contenders David Vegter and Mats Eriksson following poor qualifying performances.
Jere Rantaniemi advanced through the quarter-finals by beating Jens Lönngren, then defeated Stian Rusånes in the semi-finals after Rusånes had knocked out former champion Michael Gullquist. On the opposing side of the bracket, Michel Tooren recorded a 5.846-second run in his semi-final, but Andres Arnover advanced due to a faster reaction time. Rantaniemi ultimately took the final win with a 5.80-second pass against Arnover's 5.83-second effort.
Top Methanol saw an early upset when second seed and defending champion Sandro Bellio lost traction against rookie Isak Lagg. Lagg was subsequently defeated in the semi-finals by Santa Pod winner Timo Habermann, who had previously eliminated Isak's father, Jonny Lagg. Top qualifier Tony Bryntesson reached the final after Jonas Staflund was defeated in round one and Tina Høst Nedregård committed a red-light start in their semi-final match.
Habermann suffered severe engine damage during his semi-final victory, preventing him from contesting the final. That failure granted Bryntesson a bye run to claim the Top Methanol overall win. Meanwhile in Pro Stock, top qualifier Jimmy Ålund suffered a slow start and lost traction in his semi-final against Simon Ekengren, while Robin Norén clocked a 6.67-second pass to defeat Richard Sundblom.
Ekengren went on to claim the Pro Stock class victory after Norén encountered traction issues in an all-Swedish final, matching his rival's earlier pace with a 6.67-second run. Despite the detailed racing narrative provided in the FIA release, the event falls entirely outside the scope of Grand Prix racing. The European Drag Racing Championship moves next to the Hockenheimring for the NitrOlympX before concluding at Santa Pod in September.
