Max Verstappen commits to Red Bull until 2030 with fresh contract extension

Max Verstappen has locked in his Formula 1 future by signing a major contract extension with Red Bull, keeping him with the Milton Keynes squad until the end of the 2030 season. The four-time world champion's new agreement effectively silences months of swirling paddock speculation surrounding his long-term plans and his potential movement within the driver market.
While financial terms of high-profile F1 contracts remain strictly confidential and teams typically decline to discuss specific salaries or performance clauses, peer commentary has provided a clear hint at the scale of the package. Speaking ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix, Alpine driver Pierre Gasly let slip that his former teammate had secured a substantial financial upgrade.
Gasly, who shared a garage with Verstappen for 12 races during their time together in 2019, openly praised the Dutchman's management team for their work behind the scenes. According to Gasly, the negotiation delivered a notably lucrative outcome for the grid's benchmark competitor.
Verstappen already commanded the highest baseline salary on the Formula 1 grid, with previous estimates pegging his annual earnings at around fifty million dollars. This fresh commitment pushes those financial boundaries even further while securing his services through his early thirties.
Beyond the financial considerations, the renewed partnership continues to offer Verstappen the operational flexibility he values outside of Grand Prix racing. Red Bull has notably permitted him to explore external motorsport disciplines, creating pathways for upcoming ventures such as an intended debut at the Nurburgring 24 Hours.
Reflecting on the announcement, Verstappen emphasized that fulfilling his long-standing ambition to spend his entire career under the Red Bull banner remains his primary target. By the time this latest contract expires at the conclusion of the decade, the Dutch driver will be thirty-three years old.
The agreement also reinforces a shared desire to recapture the dominant form that brought the outfit multiple titles. Having tasted championship success repeatedly over recent seasons, Verstappen noted that the hunger to return to the front of the field remains completely undiminished.
