Verstappen Unveils Special Helmet for Final Dutch Grand Prix
Four-time world champion Max Verstappen has revealed a unique helmet design for the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix, an event confirmed to be his last Formula 1 race at his home circuit of Zandvoort.

Max Verstappen, the reigning four-time Formula 1 world champion, has presented a special-edition helmet design ahead of the upcoming Dutch Grand Prix. This year's race at Zandvoort will mark the final time Formula 1 visits the iconic circuit, concluding its six-year return to the championship calendar.
The distinctive helmet moves away from Verstappen’s typical 2026 livery, adopting a white and blue colour scheme. This design draws inspiration from traditional Dutch Delftware ceramics, incorporating intricate floral patterns and detailed blue embellishments as a direct homage to the Netherlands and the Zandvoort circuit itself. Verstappen shared the new look on social media, reflecting on the 'iconic Grand Prix' and the 'unforgettable memories' it has provided.
The Dutch Grand Prix made a highly anticipated return to the F1 schedule in 2021, revitalising a venue that last hosted a championship race in 1985. That year saw Niki Lauda claim victory for McLaren. Since its comeback, the event has quickly become a fan favourite, celebrated for its vibrant 'Orange Army' atmosphere and the passionate support that fills the grandstands.
However, this popular stint is set to conclude when the chequered flag falls on August 30. Verstappen, who has secured three F1 victories at his home circuit since its return, will be competing in his final Formula 1 event there.
Speaking on the occasion, the Red Bull driver expressed his anticipation for the weekend. "It’s my home Grand Prix, so for sure I’m going to enjoy it a lot," Verstappen stated, adding with a hint of self-deprecation, "I hope, driving-wise! Hopefully a bit more than I did this weekend [in Hungary], at least." He looked forward to engaging with the fans, acknowledging that while Formula 1 would depart, the Zandvoort track itself would remain active for other racing series and track days. "The track is not going to disappear," he remarked, emphasizing that his personal enjoyment of driving there would continue.
Verstappen also took time to commend the significant efforts behind the event's revival. He highlighted the impressive work done to bring Zandvoort back to the F1 calendar, describing its inaugural modern race as a "great example for a lot of other Grands Prix as well of how to host and entertain." His comments underscore the positive impact the Dutch Grand Prix has had during its recent tenure.
As the final preparations get underway, the unveiling of this unique helmet serves as a poignant symbol for Verstappen and his legions of home fans, commemorating a successful return that redefined the track's place in modern Formula 1 lore.
